Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko are both doubts to face Leeds United this weekend, according to various sources.

Throughout this week, the general consensus in the media has been that Gabriel Jesus will be available to face Leeds United this weekend.

Goal are the latest outlet to report that Jesus is expected to return to action for the game, but they’re far from the first. Simon Collings reported that the player was simply rested on Thursday, and David Ornstein said he imagined Jesus would start on Sunday.

Yet Mikel Arteta cast some doubt on those claims in his latest press conference.

“I don’t know (if Jesus will be available), obviously he has some discomfort after the game against Liverpool,” Arteta said.

“That’s why we decided not to bring him in [to Norway], so let’s see how he is tomorrow and Saturday.”

Perhaps Arteta is just playing it safe, or trying to play mind games with Leeds, or maybe there’s a genuine risk that Jesus might have to miss the trip.

Elsewhere, Goal report that Oleksandr Zinchenko remains a doubt due to the muscle problem that has seen him miss various recent matches.

It appears Takehiro Tomiyasu or Kieran Tierney may have to start at left-back on Sunday.

Finally, Mohamed Elneny (hamstring) and Emile Smith Rowe (groin) remain absent for the long term with their respective injury problems.

The good news is that there are no new injuries reported in the last few days. Other than those mentioned above, Arsenal should be taking their full-strength side up north.
