Arsenal can apparently land Evan Ndicka for around €15m in January as the Germans get ready to sell rather than lose him for nothing.

Arsenal are said to be interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s defender, Evan Ndicka, who is out of contract in the summer.

The Germans want Ndicka to remain with the club he signed for from Auxerre in 2018. They have offered him a new contract, which still remains on the table, but it is looking less and less likely that the 23-year-old will sign it according to Bild.

That outlet reports that Eintracht Frankfurt would be happy to take around €15m in January rather than lose Ndicka for nothing when his contract expires at the end of June.

There’s certainly some logic to an Arsenal move for Ndicka. The Gunners look to be low on centre-backs right now, particularly left-footed left-centre-backs, a point that has been picked up by the Evening Standard.

With Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White playing in the full-back positions more regularly nowadays, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Rob Holding are really Mikel Arteta’s only options centrally. Both Saliba and Holding seem to prefer the right.

Ndicka is left-footed and has an impressive set of stats, as well as building up plenty of experience in the Bundesliga and in Europe for his age.

In many ways, he does seem like the kind of signing Arsenal are likely to make at the moment, and the Gunners have been linked with him a lot in the past.

Ndicka is currently valued at £28.8m on transfermarkt, quite the increase on the £4.95m that Frankfurt paid for him.
