Arsenal are thinking of making another move for Manuel Locatelli of Juventus as the midfielder struggles in Turin, according to a report.
Calciomercato report that Arsenal are considering another attempt to sign Manuel Locatelli, with Juventus’ current plans for the midfielder unclear.
Massimiliano Allegri recently suggested that Locatelli isn’t part of his first-choice midfield, preferring the trio of Adrien Rabiot, Leandro Paredes, and Paul Pogba. At €40m, Calciomercato suggest Locatelli makes for an expensive bench player.
Perhaps that opens the door for a transfer, with Arsenal reportedly thinking about a move in January or the summer.
Arsenal reportedly made a previous attempt to sign Locatelli when he was at Sassuolo, with some claiming the Gunners had also offered €40m – matching Juventus’ offer.
But the player seemingly wanted to join the Serie A side instead, so that’s what happened.
This isn’t the first recent rumour of a Juventus player and former Arsenal target who could become a future target, after the links to Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti last month. But those reports were quickly shot down by Fabrizio Romano.
Perhaps we’ll soon get some clarity on Locatelli as well, because at the moment it seems like the Italian media are simply linking every Juventus player with a possible Arsenal move to see what sticks.
