A lot has been made of Ivan Toney’s tweet after Brentford beat Arsenal last season but Gabriel has used it to get a laugh after Arsenal demolished them on Sunday.

Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners at Brentford in a game they lost last season.

Of course, you don’t hear much about the players who were missing from that match due to Covid nor how Arsenal had asked to have it called off only to be denied because Sky wanted their curtain raiser.

Despite having a few injury problems for this game as well, Arsenal never let their hosts have a sniff.

They finished the game with 64% possession and 13 shots to Brentford’s five. And, of course, three goals to Brentford’s none.

After the game last season, Toney tweeted “Nice kick about with the boys,” which is exactly what Gabriel tweeted when he got his hands on his phone after Sunday’s match.

Gabriel finished the game with a Fotmob rating of 7.6, having played six passes into the final third, got off one shot, made five clearances, nine recoveries and one interception.
