Arsenal duo Amario Cozier-Duberry and Lino Sousa both received call-ups for the England u18s over the current international break, as the side took part in the Costa Calida Supercup at the Pinatar Arena in Spain.

Both of them started against the Netherlands in the opening game, a 1-0 win, and against Belgium in the final game, a 2-1 victory. Cozier-Duberry also made a substitute appearance in the final 10 minutes against the Faroe Islands in between.

Cozier-Duberry played a large part in England’s final victory, scoring their equaliser with a nice pass-and-move passage of play followed by a strong finish on his weaker right foot.

Cozier-Duberry was also somewhat involved in England’s winner. He received the ball from a difficult pass on the right-hand side, almost beating his man before initially losing possession.

The Arsenal youngster kept pressing the defender, who subsequently made a poor backpass directly to England striker Dominic Ballard to score.

Cozier-Duberry and Sousa are both still just 17 years old, but their strong club performances have made them regular starters for the Arsenal u21s this season, and left-back Sousa even received a first-team call-up against Brentford.

Their showings on England duty will have done no harm to their reputations, and they’ll now return to prepare for the u21 trip to Liverpool on Saturday at 14:00 BST.
