Anthony Taylor will take charge of Arsenal’s game against Tottenham this weekend as PGMOL continue to push him forward as one of their best refs despite him being a bit  of disaster.

That comment isn’t Arsenal-specific. Pick any two sides, put Taylor in the middle and you are all but guaranteed he will do something wrong.

To make it Arsenal-specific, Taylor was in charge of Arsenal’s first game of the season against Palace, where he booked two Arsenal players and one Palace despite Palace kicking lumps out of Arsenal.

He has refereed one Spurs game this season so far. That was their 3-3 draw with Chelsea when he booked three Chelsea players and no-one from Tottenham.

Taylor was only in charge of three Arsenal matches last season, all of which Arsenal won with a goal difference of F5 A0.

During those games he only issued three yellow cards to Arsenal players, but flashed seven at our opposition, including two yellows to West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal.

He took charge of four Spurs matches last season, including both their wins over Manchester City.

Taylor issued seven yellow cards to Spurs players and six to their opposition, which included another two-yellow red that went to Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu.

On VAR, Jarred Gillett will be doing his best to prove he is the Mike Dean of watching TV, looking for things nobody else can see.
