On the opening day of the new Premier League season, Arsenal fans came up with a new chant for summer signing Oleksandr Zinchenko, set to the tune of Spandau Ballet’s Gold.

The lyrics are as follows: “Zinchenko, always believe in your soul, you’ve got the power to know, you’re indestructible, always believe in Zinchenko!”

The song quickly caught on with the supporters, who carried it into the Emirates Stadium this weekend, chanting it regularly as Arsenal beat Leicester City 4-2.

After the game, Zinchenko responded to the chant on Instagram, posting “Always believe in your soul” along with a picture of himself giving a thumbs up and a heart emoji.

Zinchenko also shared a video of fans singing his chant with the ‘celebrating hands’ emoji.

The Arsenal supporters have clearly found a way to make their new signing feel welcome almost immediately, which is great to see.

Having spent six years with Manchester City, Zinchenko may have had some reservations about joining another Premier League club, but you’d imagine those have now been put to bed.
