Ronaldinho believes Gabriel Jesus will be one of the best players in Europe now that he’s at a club where he can be a focal point.

Gabriel Jesus provided another assist on Saturday to take him clear at the top of the Premier League goal contribution charts, at least until Rodrigo matched his tally with another goal and assist against Chelsea the following day.

Jesus was unlucky not to get another goal contribution on the day, with his calm finish ruled out for a VAR offside overrule, based on a blurry frame that certainly didn’t seem clear to the naked eye.

Regardless, two goals and three assists from three Premier League games in an Arsenal shirt is certainly a decent tally.

Brazil legend Ronaldinho thinks Jesus can become one of the best players in Europe at Arsenal, suggesting he was being held back at Manchester City.

“When Gabriel joined Manchester City I said he would go on to be one of the best players in the world,” Ronaldinho said.

“When he was given a chance, he showed what he was capable of – but at Manchester City, he was never shown the love a player of his quality deserves.

“At Arsenal, he has been given the chance to be the focal point, he has been shown the love by the coach and the fans, and already he is repaying that.

“This season I expect big things from him – he will repay the love shown in him by showing he is not just one of the best players in the Premier League, but also in Europe.”

Arsenal fans will hope that the best is still yet to come from Jesus, as will Brazil fans, with the World Cup rapidly approaching. For the time being, the striker is simply a joy for his new fans to watch.
