Nicolas Pepe’s loan to OGC Nice without an option to buy is on track, with the Ligue 1 club hoping to sign him in time to face Marseille on Sunday.
Nice Matin report that OGC Nice’s negotiations to loan Nicolas Pepe for the coming season are progressing well, with the player expected to arrive this week.
The deal is reportedly on track for Pepe to feature against Marseille this weekend, with no option to buy in the contract.
Yet the same outlet adds that there’s still no agreement over Pepe’s wages. It’s the final detail to complete a deal, but it’s not exactly an insignificant one.
Without an agreement on salary, it’s probably best to remain dubious that the deal will be done imminently. Plenty of deals fall apart at this stage.
There have also been links between Pepe and Leicester City in recent days, but Nice seemingly remain the favourites.
Saber Desfarges reports that Nice are pushing to complete a loan deal, confirming that negotiations are currently focusing on the player’s wages.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier last week that talks are continuing between Arsenal and Nice over a loan deal for Pepe, with the Gunners telling Pepe he has to find a new team as soon as possible.
Romano added that despite some rumours to the contrary, Sevilla hadn’t made a proposal for Pepe.
Pepe was left out of the matchday squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday, with all parties seemingly hoping he’ll soon finalise his plans for the future – at least for this campaign.
