Manchester United are reportedly interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who had ‘nothing to say’ when asked about the rumours of Chelsea’s interest.

According to the Mirror, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang does not want to leave Barcelona after only a few months, even though he has allegedly been informed that he is about fifth in the pecking order now.

It has been reported that Chelsea have seen a €14m bid rejected with Barcelona wanting over €20m for the player they got for free from Arsenal. They are also said to be willing to double Aubameyang’s wages.

Football Espana report that Chelsea talks are planned with Aubameyang’s agent as ‘Barcelona’s inability to raise any funds from the sale of players could lead to them parting ways with some assets that they had planned on retaining.’

In addition, The S*n report that Manchester United, in need of some goals, ‘are battling with Chelsea’ for Aubameyang’s signature after considering a move for him in January.

This week, Spanish TV station, Jugones, got a few words from Aubameyang himself and, while he actually said little, his words might tell us a lot.

Asked about the rumours, Aubameyang simply replied “My future? I have nothing to say.”

I may be reading far too much into this but if he was planning on staying at Barcelona, would his answer not have been more like “My future? It’s here in Barcelona”?

What does seem clear is there is far too much smoke around this rumour for there to be no fire and I expect to see Aubameyang at a new club before the window closes.
