Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Youri Tielemans remains on Arsenal’s summer shortlist, and they’re ready to make another bid for the Leicester City midfielder.

Mikel Arteta is reportedly backing the deal, and the next week is set to be decisive.

Fabrizio Romano reported for CaughtOffside on Monday that Tielemans is one to watch until the end of the summer market. Leicester are aware that offers could come, and Arsenal have been interested since May.

As it stands, Romano claims the situation is open, as Tielemans has no agreement to extend his contract with Leicester. His current deal expires next summer.

We got some insight on Tielemans current distracted state over the weekend, as Brendan Rodgers opted to leave him out of the Leicester starting lineup.

That doesn’t necessarily mean a sale will follow, but it suggests Tielemans’ head is already elsewhere, and a deal won’t be difficult if Arsenal can reach an agreement with Leicester.

The Evening Standard recently reported that Leicester are reluctantly open to approving Tielemans’ departure for a fee of around £25m.

Reports have consistently suggested that Leicester are expecting a bid for Tielemans before the end of the window, but Arsenal have waited until the final weeks to make their move. With 10 days until the deadline, we’ll see if they speed things up now.
