Nice play Marseille on Sunday with a 2pm kick-off at the Allianz Riviera and it might be a match Arsenal fans want to tune in to with six players on show that we are more than a little familiar with.

Nicolas Pepe completed his loan to OGC Nice this week, with Arsenal confirming the deal and the Ligue 1 side confirming that there is no option to buy him.

I was curious to see when his first match might be and was delighted to find that it is likely to be on Sunday when Nice welcome Marseille for a 2pm kick-off.

Pepe is, of course, now teammates with Aaron Ramsey who signed for the French club earlier in the summer after his contract with Juventus was cancelled.

Despite apparently not being wanted by the Nice manager, Ramsey scored just one minute into his debut. He has just been used as a substitute so far, however, with only 60 minutes played across three games.

Nice’s opponents will also feature an Arsenal player on loan in Nuno Tavares, who perhaps has more of a future at Arsenal than Pepe.

Tavares is having a great time on loan so far with two goals in three appearances, playing 262 of the 270 available minutes since he signed.

But, the Marseille side also has a host of former Arsenal players in its ranks.

Alexis Sanchez signed for them this summer when, like Ramsey, he had his contract terminated by an Italian side, Inter Milan in his case.

Alexis has yet to score after two games for Marseille as his post-Arsenal slide continues.

Matteo Guendouzi is also a Marseille player after they turned his loan into a permanent deal for relative peanuts.

The sixth player with an Arsenal connection is none other than Sead Kolasinac, a player I’m sure you’ve all done your best to remove from your memory.

Marseille are trying to get rid of him, but unless something dramatic happens, he is likely to be watching on from the bench on Sunday. He’s played even fewer minutes than Ramsey, with just 40 in the bank.

I have no way of checking but, as pointed out in the tweet below, this could be a record for the number of Arsenal-linked players in a match that doesn’t involve Arsenal.
