Fulham are growing confident over the transfer of Arsenal’s Bernd Leno, but they’re currently unwilling to meet the Gunners’ demands.

The Evening Standard report that newly-promoted Fulham are growing in confidence they can seal a £10m deal for Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Talks are reportedly advancing, and there’s growing belief a deal will be done.

Florian Plettenberg reports for Sky Sport Germany that Leno is still participating in Arsenal training sessions for now, but an agreement for his transfer is possible this week.

The player has already agreed personal terms with Fulham on a three-year deal with an option for a fourth.

Yet Plettenberg adds that Arsenal are still demanding “too much” money for Leno. The Gunners reportedly want £11m, with negotiations ongoing and Leno hoping the two clubs reach an agreement.

From an Arsenal point of view, £11m really doesn’t seem like too much. Leno is a very good goalkeeper and Fulham are a Premier League side, they should be able to afford the transfer.

Perhaps the two clubs will end up settling around the £10m mark, as the Evening Standard suggest is likely.

German outlet Bild claim Arsenal’s decision not to name Leno in their squad to face FC Nurnberg last week was because they didn’t want to risk an injury jeopardising the goalkeeper’s transfer.

Leno wants the move to try and get regular football ahead of the World Cup, with Fulham able to offer him a starting role.

David Ornstein initially broke the news of the talks between the two clubs, with Sky Sports later confirming contact.

The Evening Standard claim the goalkeeper spoke with Edu before the end of the season and they reportedly agreed he could leave.
