Juventus are admitting defeat in their summer pursuit of Gabriel Magalhaes, though they aren’t the only top club with an interest in the Arsenal man.

The Mirror report that Edu Gaspar has won his transfer battle with Juventus, as the Serie A side give up on signing Gabriel Magalhaes this summer.

Fabrizio Romano suggests that plenty of other clubs are interested in the Arsenal centre-back, though Arsenal have no intention to let him go.

“Many, many clubs in for Gabriel Magalhaes,” Romano told the Here We Go podcast. “He’s not going to be an easy one, because Arsenal don’t have intention to sell him.

“In case some top club will arrive for Gabriel, Pau Torres would be an option for Arsenal.”

For the time being, it looks hugely unlikely Arsenal will sell Gabriel this summer.

Under contract until 2025, the Gunners are holding out for a major fee to let the defender leave, and no one has shown a willingness to make that kind of offer.

As Romano highlights, Arsenal would need to replace Gabriel with a top alternative if they let him go. He’s not exactly surplus to requirements in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Gabriel missed the first three games of the last Premier League season, before appearing in 35 of the remaining 35. He’s a nailed-on starter whenever he’s available.

Arsenal hold all the cards in this saga, so it’s hard to imagine anything other than Gabriel lining up for the side on August 5th and beyond.
