Arsenal have apparently reignited their interest in the Juventus midfielder, Arthur, despite a report claiming they would not return for him this summer.

Arsenal tried to sign Arthur from Juventus in January but were unsuccessful in their efforts despite getting very close.

Around April, Fabrizio Romano declared that Arsenal would not be returning for him in the summer but, he said, with Mohamed Elneny set to leave for free, the club would be looking for another midfielder.

Of course, Arsenal offered Elneny a new contract, he signed it, and it seems as if Romano was more than a little wide of the mark.

So, it seems when it comes to Arthur.

Even at the time Romano was saying that Arsenal wouldn’t return for him, there were reports in Italy that they might do just that.

Either way, Arsenal are apparently back sniffing around again, according to TMW, anyway.

They claim that negotiations between the two sides are already taking place which could see Arthur remain in Turin when Juventus head off on their pre-season tour of the States on 21 July.

The 25-year-old is valued at around £16m and has three years left on his current Juventus contract.
