Arsenal are interested in Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, according to a report, though they’re not the only Premier League club in the race.

Sacha Tavolieri of RMC Sport reports that Arsenal have been interested in Lille’s Amadou Onana for a while, and they’ve already met with the player’s entourage.
As well as Arsenal, Onana is reportedly drawing interest from other London clubs in the Premier League, though Tavolieri doesn’t specify which.
Onana joined Lille from second-division Hamburg in the summer of 2021, so last season was his first in one of Europe’s top-five leagues.
The defensive midfielder made 42 appearances, scoring three goals and assisting one in all competitions. Though he was only a semi-regular starter, with 27 of those 42 appearances being from the bench.
Throughout the season, 20-year-old Onana was also captaining the Belgium u21s, and his performances for his club and at youth level for his country eventually earned him his senior international debut in June.

Arsenal have clearly taken notice, and may well look to bid for Onana if they want to add a defensive-minded option to their midfield this summer.
