Lucas Torreira’s agent has spoken on the speculation surrounding his client at the moment, but he doesn’t have much to report.

Lucas Torreira’s transfer situation is up in the air following the breakdown of his permanent move to Fiorentina, with various other Serie A clubs in the mix for him.

The Arsenal man’s agent is staying tight-lipped on the current speculation, though he did hint that an update could be forthcoming before long.

“At the moment there is nothing concrete and there is no news that I can give you,” the agent told Romagiallorossa.it. “We will see in the next few days.”

Alfredo Pedulla recently reported that Torreira is looking for a new club following Fiorentina’s failure to secure a permanent transfer for him. The player has a year left on his contract with Arsenal, but he’d like to stay in Italy.

Torreira has reportedly been offered to Lazio, following links between the player and Maurizio Sarri last summer.

Meanwhile, RomaForever.it report that the player’s camp has also made contact with AS Roma over a potential move.

After much speculation over the last month, Torreira seemingly confirmed this week that he won’t be joining Fiorentina, with a farewell message on social media.

As well as all the usual messages of gratitude for his time at the club, Torreira also had a message for the people that stopped his loan from turning into a permanent transfer.

“Know that I did my best to continue being part of this club, but unfortunately there were those who, acting in a bad way, according to my understanding, managed to prevent this from happening and that is why I have to leave,” Torreira said.

If Fiorentina wanted to sign Torreira, they had already agreed to a €15m option in his contract to do so. All they had to do was activate the option and Arsenal could do nothing to stop the transfer.

But Torreira’s agent confirmed last month that Fiorentina tried to negotiate the price down, and negotiate his wages down. Neither Arsenal nor the player were happy with that development.
