Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has returned to full fitness and he’s ready for pre-season, according to reports.

Charles Watts reports on his YouTube channel that he understands Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney are on course to feature in pre-season for Arsenal.

Partey’s situation is the more advanced, as all sources report he’s now fully fit and ready for pre-season. Watts believes Tierney is fit as well, but that’s not quite as certain.

Ghanaian outlet 442 reported last month that Arsenal had requested that Ghana excuse Partey from their latest round of international fixtures.

Partey was still recovering from the injury that saw him miss the end of the club season, and Arsenal wanted him to miss the AFCON qualifiers as a precautionary measure.

Ghana won one and drew one in Partey’s absence, so it was probably worth giving him the rest for his long-term benefit.

Partey last played for Arsenal on April 4th, and his injury certainly came at a bad time for Mikel Arteta’s side. He missed the final nine games of the season, and the Gunners lost four of them.

But the major upside is that the 28-year-old then had so much time to recover.

Arsenal kick off their pre-season preparations next week, with the fixtures getting underway in July. Partey should now have a full pre-season to return to match sharpness.
