Arsenal have agreed a deal with Fabio Vieira that will see the Gunners pay €35m initially and then up to €5m in bonuses, but with the player belonging to Jorge Mendes GestiFute agency, he, of course, gets a big slice, too.

Until now, Arsenal have done well to stay away from business with Jorge Mendes but their latest deal for the 22-year-old FC Porto attacking midfielder, Fabio Vieira, puts an end to that.

According to A Bola in Portugal, Mendes will pocket around €13.5m in fees from the sale of Vieira to Arsenal and Vitinha to PSG.

Both deals are worth around the same amount, with Mendes pocketing a commission that amounts to 50% of any transfer fee over €30m.

So, if Arsenal’s deal to sign Vieira is €40m, Mendes gets half the difference between €30m and €40m – €5m.

He will reportedly make more from the Vitinha transfer (€13.5m) due to the way the bonus structure is arranged.
