Several teams have made contact with Hector Bellerin in recent weeks, but the player remains keen on a return to Real Betis.
It feels like we’ve only just finished last season, but it won’t be long until Arsenal are back in action again. The squad are already back at London Colney, with a number of players involved in training sessions this week

Hector Bellerin was one of the players to take part in the early pre-season training sessions this week, but his future with Arsenal remains uncertain.
With his contract expiring in 2023, Bellerin spent the last season on loan with Real Betis. He had a positive experience with the club overall, even winning the Copa del Rey having provided an assist in the final.
Marca report that several teams have knocked on Bellerin’s door in recent weeks, but the 27-year-old is currently keen to see if he can return to Betis for the coming campaign.
The La Liga side are in a difficult economic situation, so they couldn’t afford the transfer as it stands. But with plenty of time in the summer remaining, that could change if they make a sale or two.
Other reports from Spain this week suggested that Bellerin has informed Arsenal of his desire to leave the club, and Atletico Madrid have given him cause to doubt his priority move back to Real Betis.
Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have reportedly now opened talks over a possible transfer, with the Spanish club also having held conversations with the player’s agent.
Negotiations are now underway, but still in the early stages. Bellerin has been made aware of Atletico’s interest, and he considers them a good option if Real Betis can’t agree a fee with Arsenal.
Bellerin is willing to give up a large part of his salary to complete a move, and he’s also drawing interest from Villarreal. That trio of clubs are likely part of the “several” with an interest, referred to by Marca.
Like Betis, a move to Atletico won’t happen quickly. The La Liga side need to sell before buying, which is likely to see the situation drag on through the remaining months of the transfer window.
One other thing to note is that Arsenal aren’t considering cancelling Bellerin’s contract. They want a fee for his sale.
