Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of Gabriel Jesus and the Manchester City striker has been offered to Real Madrid, according to a report.

Marca report that Gabriel Jesus is one of many players to be offered to Real Madrid in recent days, and they’re considering him as an option as with all proposals they receive.

Unlike some of the other offers, Jesus is a player Carlo Ancelotti likes and who is popular enough with the Real Madrid hierarchy.

A serious move from Real for the Manchester City striker would be a blow to Arsenal, who have reportedly made Jesus their priority signing for the summer window.

The Athletic had previously reported that Arsenal were optimistic that their interest in Jesus would eventually lead to a transfer. Football.London claimed Arsenal were set to place a £35m bid for his signature.

The 25-year-old is currently away on international duty, after which he’s expected to resolve his future with his representatives.

The Real Madrid links to Jesus feel a lot like the Tottenham Hotspur links, in that they just don’t make much sense for the player.

If Jesus wants to sit on the bench for a Champions League club, he can do that at Manchester City and he’ll probably pick up a trophy or two at the end of the season. Then he’d be a free agent with his choice of where to go next.

If he wants to be a starter with a long-term project that he can be an important part of, Arsenal are offering him that.

There seems little reason to go and play as a backup to Harry Kane or Karim Benzema. He won’t displace either of them this season, so there’s seemingly no advantage over just staying with City for one more year.
