Arsenal are offering Gabriel Jesus the best contract of the clubs interested in his signature, according to a report.
The S*n report that though Arsenal have held talks with Gabriel Jesus’ agent, the Manchester City striker is also on the radar for clubs in Spain and Italy.
Yet Arsenal have the financial edge over their transfer rivals, offering the biggest wages – £190,000-a-week.
Jesus currently earns £110,000-a-week at Manchester City, though he’d obviously be expecting to up that if he extended his deal.
The City 25-year-old is currently away on international duty, after which he’s expected to resolve his future with his representatives.
As Brazil’s friendly against Argentina was cancelled, they only have one game remaining in the international break. They play Japan on Monday, after which Jesus’ camp will be free to focus on his future.
The Athletic report that Arsenal remain optimistic that their interest in Gabriel Jesus will eventually lead to a transfer.
The striker is the Gunners’ number-one target, and they hope reports of Manchester City demanding £50m are simply part of the negotiating process.
Football.London had previously reported that Arsenal were set to place a £35m bid for his signature.
Goal write that Arsenal are yet to place an opening bid for Jesus, as they wait for the conclusion of the player’s talks with the City hierarchy.
Speaking to Sky Sports recently, David Ornstein claimed that Jesus of Manchester City is at the top of Arsenal’s list for signings in the striker position.
Jesus reportedly does exactly what Mikel Arteta is looking for in a striker, as well as having a personal relationship with both Arteta and Arsenal technical director Edu.
The 25-year-old scored 13 goals and assisted 12 in 41 appearances this season, a goal or assist every 103 minutes.
