Arsenal and Manchester United are both willing to pay Vitinha’s €40m release clause at FC Porto this summer, according to a report.

With the international break finally bringing an end to a long season of football, Arsenal will be shifting into transfer mode for the next few weeks – before pre-season gets underway in earnest.

The fans have nothing to do but wait in the meantime, and they could take the opportunity to check out this 3 euro deposit casino whilst Arsenal search for new signings. Among their priorities will be the addition of a midfielder.

Portuguese outlet Record write that both Arsenal and Manchester United are willing to pay the release clause of Vitinha at FC Porto, set at €40m.

The two clubs are reportedly in a ‘heated duel’ for the player, as they both look to bolster their options in the middle.

Vitinha had a busy season with Porto, making 47 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing five assists. His performances even helped him earn a promotion from the Portugal u21s to the senior side, and he has three senior caps since March.

If Vitinha’s name seems familiar, that would be because he already spent a season in the Premier League in 2020/21.

With Porto struggling with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, they loaned Vitinha out to Wolves with a €20m option to buy. Unfortunately, he failed to establish himself at the time, making just five league starts before returning to Porto.

A year later, the 22-year-old seems to have found his feet in senior football, and he could be set for another shot at English football with Arsenal or Manchester United.

A strong passer and solid dribbler who loves a long-shot, it seems like Vitinha could be on Arsenal’s shortlist as an alternative to Youri Tielemans.

For now, it seems like Tielemans is Arsenal’s priority signing in midfield. Various sources suggest the Gunners are confident of landing the Leicester City man, and it was just a case of waiting for the international break to end so negotiations could start.

If Leicester are willing to be reasonable in negotiations, with Tielemans in the final year of his deal at the club, then that transfer appears likely to go through. Arsenal are reportedly hoping to pay around £25m for the 25-year-old.

But if Leicester decide to cause problems, perhaps Arsenal will turn to Vitinha to fill the gap in their midfield instead.
