Arsenal remain the favourites to sign Gabriel Jesus this summer, despite interest from the other London clubs, with Real Madrid seemingly ruled out.

The Telegraph report that Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave Manchester City this summer, with Arsenal leading the chase ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

In Brazil, Andre Hernan reports that Arsenal are one step ahead of the competition despite interest from Chelsea.

Hernan rules out Real Madrid on the basis that the Spanish club have already maxed out their quota of non-EU players.

The same journalist also adds that those around Jesus have been keeping particularly quiet about his future in recent days, which is why we haven’t had much of an update already.

Perhaps that could suggest they’re closing in on a decision, but it could also simply mean they want to take their time, so it’s not worth getting excited yet.

The last we heard about Jesus was that Manchester City were dropping the price for the striker.

CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs reported that Manchester City were initially asking for £55m to sell this summer.

Arsenal felt this fee was too high, and City have since dropped their asking price by around £10-12m. That new fee is more in Arsenal’s ballpark.

That new reported asking price of £43-45m is roughly consistent with the latest from Fabrizio Romano, who claimed City are now asking for €50-55m (£43-47m).

Jesus scored 13 goals and assisted 12 in 41 City appearances this season, a goal or assist every 103 minutes.
