Arsenal could face Sevilla in the Emirates Cup and one more team behind closed doors in their final couple of pre-season fixtures.
With most of Arsenal’s pre-season plans either officially confirmed or at least well-reported by insiders, the primary remaining uncertainty is over the period after the U.S. tour.
According to Football.London, the rumoured Emirates Cup event will take place on July 30th, and Arsenal are hoping to host Sevilla for the match.
The same outlet report that Arsenal may be planning a behind-closed-doors friendly in between their return from the U.S. and the Emirates Cup – with no specific opponent confirmed yet.
Arsenal have already announced all the details of the U.S. tour, with a game in Baltimore against Everton on July 16th, followed by two games in Orlando against Orlando City on July 20th and Chelsea on July 23rd.
Before that, various reports suggest Arsenal will play a match in Germany as part of a training camp in the country.
Football.London confirm a previous claim from Arsenal Fixture News that this game will be a friendly against 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday, July 8th.
With all that in mind, this is the pre-season schedule as it stands:
- 8th July – 1. FC Nürnberg vs Arsenal (A)
- 16th July – Everton vs Arsenal (N)
- 20th July – Orlando City vs Arsenal (A)
- 23rd July – Chelsea vs Arsenal (N)
- Unconfirmed behind-closed-doors friendly
- 30th July – Emirates Cup match, likely against Sevilla (H)
- 6th August – Premier League opener
While the senior side are on their world tour, the u18s will reportedly hold a pre-season tour up in Edinburgh from Monday 18th July to Saturday 23rd July.
