Arsenal’s Harry Clarke finally made his first appearance for Hibernian FC on Saturday, and he made the best possible start by scoring in the opening 45 minutes against Dundee United.

With Dundee United taking an early lead, Clarke had his first shot on goal in the 41st minute. Playing as a wing-back on the day, Clarke found space for a shot 25 yards out and forced an outstretched save from Dundee’s Benjamin Siegrist.

Clarke then got his goal a few minutes later, bringing down Chris Cadden’s cross and firing home.

The 21-year-old continued to cause problems for the remainder of the match, but Hibs couldn’t find the winner to make it a perfect debut. In the end, the Arsenal loanee had to settle for winning his new teammates a point.

Clarke completed his 18-month loan move to Hibs in the January transfer window, but just five days after completing the transfer, he picked up an injury that saw him ruled out for almost three months.

Before that, Clarke had made a strong start to the season on loan with Ross County, earning the switch to Hibs.

The defender will now be looking to get his season back on track in preparation for his full campaign with the side in 2022/23, and a goal is a great start.
