Kicker (via GGFN) report that contract negotiations between Serge Gnabry and Bayern Munich have stalled for some time now and the winger is now unlikely to sign an extension beyond 2023.

Bayern aren’t willing to meet the winger’s demands to be paid a similar amount to Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane, so Gnabry is no longer thinking about extending.

The situation has reportedly garnered interest from Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs.

Sport1 editor Kerry Hau recently reported that as well as the money, Gnabry feels he’s being used too far wide in Julian Nagelsmann’s current system, limiting his ability to produce in front of goal.

If Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs after Gnabry, their formation involves wide forwards with overlapping full-backs, rather than out-and-out wingers. So they could offer him more of a central role.

Even from his current wider position in the Bayern team, Gnabry has provided plenty of goal contributions this season.

In 42 appearances for the side in 2021/22, the German international has reached 16 goals and eight assists, most recently scoring in the game that won them their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title.

For the national team, where he plays centrally more regularly, Gnabry has 20 goals in 31 appearances.
