Arsenal already have Gabriel and Benjamin White at the club, with William Saliba set to return to London in the summer.

Many managers believe that four is the ideal number of centrebacks to have in your squad, which could, therefore, be why Arsenal are being linked by a number of sources in Italy with a move for Torino’s 25-year-old centreback, Gleison Bremer.

Arsenal are said to have made a number of phonecalls about the player’s availability, amid rumours that he is also wanted by Napoli and Inter Milan.

The Brazilian joined Torino in 2018 from Atletico Mineiro for just £5.22m but has seen his value rocket to nearly £30m in the intervening years.

Bremer’s contract runs until 2024 and he is represented by CAA Base Ltd, a Spursy agency who also count among their players Heung-Min Son, Raphael Varane, James Madison, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli, and Kieran Trippier.
