The Premier League confirmed their nominees for the March Player of the Month award on Thursday, with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka making the list.

Saka joins Matty Cash (Aston Villa), Trevoh Chalobah and Kai Havertz (Chelsea), Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski (Spurs), Andy Robertson (Liverpool), and Ivan Toney (Brentford) in receiving a nomination.

Saka had a strong month with Arsenal as they won three of their four games in March.

The winger scored against Aston Villa and Watford, as well as providing an assist against Watford, and he was a menace on and off the ball against Leicester City despite not scoring.

This is Arsenal’s first Premier League Player of the Month nomination of 2022, as they last received a couple of nominations when Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard were both up for the award in December.

It’s been a very long time since an Arsenal player actually won the award, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the only Gunner to win it since 2015 (Aubameyang triumphed in both October 2018 and September 2019).

That run will hopefully come to an end soon, particularly with the team’s recent improvement in performances.
