Nikolaj Moller and Jordan McEneff both moved on loan in the winter window, and Friday provided some signs that their spells are starting to get going.

Moller is playing for FC Den Bosch in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, and Friday brought his first goal contribution for the club.

The Arsenal academy striker assisted the game’s opener in what turned out to be a 3-1 win over MVV Maastricht. His first assist and their first win since he joined should do well for his confidence.

Den Bosch play again on Monday, hosting Jong PSV at 19:00 GMT.

As for McEneff, his success story was simply completing 90 minutes in Shelbourne FC’s draw with Dundalk. It’s the first time in over 16 months that the midfielder has completed a full match.

Shelbourne will hope there’s still more to come from McEneff, with the Irish Examiner reporting that he’s shown glimpses of his ability whilst still often finding himself frustrated in their games so far.

But for the 21-year-old, it’s all about taking things one step at a time. If he can get playing full matches again first, then he can start to worry about recapturing his best form.

Like Moller, McEneff won’t have to wait long for another chance to feature, with Shelbourne playing again on Monday night. They travel away to Bohemians for 19:45 GMT.
