Gabriel Martinelli believes Arsenal can fight for titles and the Champions League in the coming seasons.

With 10 games of the Premier League season remaining, Arsenal are still in with a shot at finishing in the Champions League qualification places, but their trophy hopes for the campaign have been over for a while now.

The Gunners have no choice but to think a bit more long-term, but Gabriel Martinelli believes there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

“We had a very big reformulation, our team has many youngsters, 23, 20 years old,” Martinelli said this week.

“We have a future ahead of us, if we keep this team, we can fight for titles in the following seasons, we will fight for that.

“This season we will fight for fourth place, to go to the Champions League, and then fight for the Champions League.”

It’s a step-by-step process, and Arsenal still have a real job to do just to make it into the top four by the end of May.

Though the Gunners currently have a three-point lead and a game in hand on Tottenham Hotspur, they have the harder fixture list without a doubt.

The only two top-eight games Spurs have left to play are against Liverpool and Arsenal themselves, whilst Arsenal have to face Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United, and obviously Spurs away from home.

Even Arsenal’s easier games aren’t that easy. Crystal Palace away has been a tricky fixture in recent seasons, and they’re in good form at the moment. Newcastle United away could be more difficult following their recent resurgence.

If the Gunners can finish in the top four, we can start to dream about what’s next. For now, there’s work to be done.
