Hibernian FC have confirmed that Harry Clarke is in training again with the club, with Clarke himself writing on Twitter that he’s “buzzing to be back” ahead of a “big game on Saturday”.

Clarke is yet to debut for Hibs following his loan move from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Just five days after completing the transfer, he picked up an injury that has seen him ruled out for almost three months now.

In the end, it’s a very good thing Arsenal agreed an 18-month loan for Clarke. He won’t have to worry about whether or not he does enough in the next two months to earn a summer move, he can just focus on getting fully fit and finding his feet again.

Clarke seems to be in good spirits already, with a comeback to the pitch finally on the horizon.

“The first few weeks were tough,” Clarke admitted. “I had the high of joining such a big Club in Hibs and then it was a kick in the teeth when I got injured five days later.

“Once I got back to Arsenal it hit me that there wasn’t much I could do about it and that I just had to get on with my rehab.

“Since then I have been fully focused on getting back playing, my rehab has been good, it has all gone smoothly so far and there haven’t been any setbacks at all.

“Both my hamstrings are stronger now than they were before so all in all I feel a lot better in my body.

“The boys have been really good with me since I came back, they were joking as though they’ve seen a ghost.

“Now I just can’t wait to get going again and I am really excited to pull on that Hibs jersey for the first time.”

After a strong start to the season on loan with Ross County, earning his second loan to Hibs, Clarke will be looking to get his season back on track in preparation for his full campaign with the side in 2022/23.
