Calum Chambers is hoping to be fit to face Arsenal this weekend, despite an injury in his last appearance away to West Ham United.

The Daily Mail report that Calum Chambers is hopeful of being fit and available to face former club Arsenal this weekend, despite needing stitches for a facial injury on Sunday.
Chambers received a blow to the face from West Ham’s Craig Dawson on Sunday, but it seems as though he’s not going to miss a game.
In other Villa team news, Lucas Digne will miss the Arsenal clash after a hamstring injury against West Ham, whilst Douglas Luiz is another doubt with another facial injury.
For the most part, Villa have been in strong form lately. Up until the 2-1 defeat to West Ham, they’d comfortably won three games in a row: 2-0 vs Brighton, 4-0 vs Southampton, and 3-0 vs Leeds United.
The other side of the argument is that Villa have tended to fall apart against the top teams.
They’ve lost every single top-eight clash against a club not named Manchester United this season.

So it’s not entirely clear whether they’ve started to turn things around with the additions of Digne, Philippe Coutinho, and Calum Chambers in January, or whether they’ve just been winning some of their easier fixtures.
Arsenal will hope it’s the latter, and that Chambers ends up on the losing side on Saturday.
