Calum Chambers move to Aston Villa during the January transfer window took everyone by surprise and the defender has been nicknamed ‘Chamberinho’ after a stunning pre-assist pass during Aston Villa’s 4-0 win over Southampton this weekend.

When he was at Arsenal, Calum Chambers scored five and assisted 10, but few Arsenal fans will be able to point to a better pass than the one he played for Villa on Saturday – although as you can see below, it is a pass he has played before.

Scooping the ball with the outside of his boot, he took out the entire Saints defence, landing the ball perfectly for Philippe Coutinho (who seems to take all the glory), who had the simple task of squaring it to Douglas Luiz to make it 2-0.

And here is Chambers doing the same thing for Arsenal:

Since moving to Villa, Chambers has played the full 90 in three of the five league games they have played.

This was the first game Villa have won with Chambers in the starting lineup, losing 1-0 at Newcastle and 1-0 to Watford at home.
