Barcelona are joining Atletico Madrid and Olympique Lyonnais on the list of clubs ready to make a move for Alexandre Lacazette, according to a report.

Le10Sport report that Barcelona are positioning themselves for a summer move for Alexandre Lacazette, who may well be available on a free transfer in June.

That’s when the Arsenal striker’s contract expires, though Mikel Arteta has repeatedly made it clear that they’ll discuss a possible extension once the season is over.

“We agreed to do it in the summer,” Arteta said this week. “We are going to do it as soon as the season is finished.”

Lacazette wouldn’t be the first Arsenal striker to move to Barcelona this year, of course. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already made the same move to good effect.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Lacazette is also one of Atletico Madrid’s options to replace Luis Suarez this summer, with the Uruguayan striker’s deal also up in June.

As well as Atletico, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently told the media they intend to make a move for Lacazette this summer.

“We’ll do our best to sign Alexandre Lacazette in June,” Aulas said.

Lyon director Vincent Ponsot added: “We’ve seen the maturity that he’s acquired. We’ve always remained in contact with him. But bringing in big players is always complicated.”

Lacazette hasn’t been scoring too often lately, but he’s top of the Premier League for assists in the last 10 games (with seven).

All seven of those assists came in wins for Arsenal, so it’s perhaps unsurprising his performances are starting to draw outside interest.
