The Mirror report that Arsenal are plotting an ambitious transfer move for Marcus Rashford in the summer window. He’s one of the names on their striker shortlist, and he seems much more likely to be available now than he was in January.

Rashford still has one year left on his Manchester United deal, plus an option to extend by a further year, but he doesn’t seem to be happy at the club.

Given he’ll be a maximum of two years from the end of his contract this summer, Manchester United may look to either sell or extend the England international’s deal.

The 24-year-old isn’t having his best season, with five goals and two assists in 26 matches. It’s certainly a step down from the 21 goals and 12 assists he managed in all competitions last campaign.

But we know Arsenal are in the market for a young striker this summer. Perhaps Mikel Arteta might believe he could help recapture Rashford’s best form.

The Times recently reported that speculation is mounting that Rashford could consider his future at United, amid concerns over his position in the team and the potential consequences for his World Cup chances.

90min added that Rashford is frustrated under Ralf Rangnick, and believes the interim manager may not see a future for him. The same outlet listed Arsenal as one club keeping an eye on Rashford’s situation.
