Thanks to the international break, only four fixtures involving the Arsenal loanees’ clubs were scheduled for the weekend so Arsenal fans could be found on casino NetBet instead of in front of the TV.

One of those was Lincoln City’s trip to Shrewsbury Town, which Brooke Norton-Cuffy missed for England u19 duty. Lincoln lost 1-0 in Norton-Cuffy’s absence.

Another was Sheffield Wednesday’s game against Cheltenham Town, which went ahead without the injured Tyreece John-Jules. Wednesday won 4-1.

That only left two Arsenal loanees. Matt Smith made a start for Doncaster Rovers against Charlton Athletic, playing 75 minutes in a 1-0 defeat. He completed 84% of his passes, made five clearances, one interception, and two tackles.

Rovers continue to be in danger of dropping down to League Two, sitting in 23rd in the table and at least four points away from escaping the relegation zone.

Slightly later in the day, Nikolaj Moller made the only other loan appearance of the weekend, playing the full match for FC Den Bosch in their 0-0 draw with VVV-Venlo.

Despite a couple of shots on target, Moller couldn’t break the deadlock, and Den Bosch remain 14th in the Eerste Divisie.
