Fabrizio Romano reports that Youri Tielemans won’t extend his contract with Leicester City, turning down their latest offer of a new deal.

The midfielder will be out of contract in 2023, but it’s now significantly more likely Leicester will sell him on in the summer, their last realistic chance to cash in.

Romano adds that Tielemans will remain professional and focused on Leicester until the end of the season. After that, many top clubs want him in June.

Goal reported in January that Arsenal are interested in Youri Tielemans, and they’ve already held talks with his agent about a potential move. The two parties met at London Colney to discuss the situation.

The deal always looked unlikely to happen in the January transfer window, as Leicester wanted to keep him until the end of the season.

But Arsenal believe they could be an appealing summer option.

Tielemans is still a regular in Leicester’s current side, making 28 appearances this season already.

The midfielder contributes to the goals fairly often for his position, scoring seven and assisting three this campaign following 15 goal contributions last season.
