A permanent move from Juventus to Rangers appears to be less and less likely for Aaron Ramsey, according to a report from Italy.

Calciomercato.it report that Juventus were hoping when they loaned Aaron Ramsey to Rangers that he would play consistently and put in impressive performances that would earn him a permanent transfer.

In reality, the Italian outlet claim a permanent move to Rangers “seems to be moving further and further away”. A return to Juventus at the end of the season now “seems inevitable”.

That isn’t going down well with Juventus fans, who were keen to see the situation resolved on a longer-term basis.

The former Arsenal man has made four appearances for Rangers since joining in January, for a total of 94 minutes on the pitch.

The vast majority of that total comes from a 61-minute appearance in the Scottish Cup against fourth-tier side Annan Athletic FC.

It’s pretty clear that Rangers are unwilling to use Ramsey in any matches of importance so far.

That may change when he settles in, and it’ll have to for there to be any chance of a permanent summer transfer.

For the time being, it looks as if we’re set for another few months of speculation on the midfielder’s future.
