Another ex-Arsenal academy youngster made his debut for Derby County this week, with Malcolm Ebiowei coming on for his first senior appearance.

In the dying moments of Derby County’s win over Hull City earlier this week, manager Wayne Rooney chose to bring on former Arsenal academy youngster Malcolm Ebiowei for former Arsenal academy youngster Luke Plange.

10 minutes earlier, former Arsenal academy youngster Krystian Bielik had also been substituted off.

Derby have certainly had a fair amount of success with bringing in players who used to ply their trade at London Colney.

Bielik is a starter when he’s fit, Plange has three senior goals in 10 league games following his recent breakthrough, and Ebiowei could be the next up-and-comer.

Ebiowei has certainly done well for the Derby u18s, scoring seven goals and assisting one in seven games this season.

Plange’s breakthrough into senior football caught the eye before that, and Crystal Palace have already moved to sign him up to 2025.

The striker is currently back with Derby on loan until the end of the season.

For now, the full focus for the ex-Arsenal trio is on securing their safety in the Championship. After their heavy points penalties, Derby have managed to bounce back to just four points away from safety.
