Udinese are closing in on a loan move for Arsenal’s Pablo Mari, with no option or obligation to buy in the proposed deal.

Di Marzio report that Udinese are closing in on the signing Pablo Mari on loan, having now almost concluded negotiations with Arsenal for the player.

According to the same report, Mari would join Udinese on a straight loan, with the final agreement expected imminently.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are prepared to let Mari leave this month, and negotiations are ongoing for a loan deal to Udinese.

Sky Sports reported recently that Arsenal would consider offers for Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers. Neither appear to be in Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans.

Brazilian reporter Raisa Simplicio wrote at the time that Mari may well leave Arsenal, but the player’s priority is to continue in Europe, rather than returning to Brazilian football.

It seems that’s now how it’s panning out, with Udinese offering Mari the chance to play in Serie A.

Mari has played 270 minutes for Arsenal this season, and he hasn’t even been making appearances in low-profile matches like the weekend’s FA Cup third-round match against Nottingham Forest.

Across all competitions, Mari has made it into nine matchday squads this campaign, and only one in the Premier League since September 19th. A loan move would certainly be for the best.
