Marco Bovicelli of Sky Sport Italia tweeted out a picture on Tuesday of Andre Onana after holding his medical tests in Milan.

Fabrizio Romano wrote that the medical was a success, and Onana will be joining Inter Milan as a free agent in the summer.

Later in the day, Romano confirmed Onana had signed his contract for a five-year deal for €3m net per season. It’s just a matter of time until we get some kind of official confirmation.

Back in December, the same journalist gave his “here we go” confirmation to Onana signing a pre-contract agreement with Inter Milan in January, ahead of a free transfer move in the summer.

Romano ruled out Barcelona as an option, and he insists Onana’s move to Inter was never in doubt.

Onana’s contract with Ajax expiring in the summer is seemingly what made him so appealing to Arsenal in the first place. The goalkeeper was strongly linked with the Gunners in the last window.

That likely changed when Aaron Ramsdale proved such a success in his early months with the club.

In September, Onana told reporters that he didn’t have any agreement to join a new club, and that he had as many as 15 suitors to sign him next summer.

He even suggested it was possible he extends his deal with Ajax. But despite those comments, it looks like he’ll now join Inter, as we’ve known for a while now.

Onana has just finished serving a suspension after the banned substance, Furosemide, was found in his urine sample. He claimed he took it by accident after it was prescribed to his wife.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled no significant fault could be attributed to Onana, reducing the ban from 12 months to nine as a result. He’s available again now.

The 25-year-old has had an excellent record in goal for Ajax. He kept nine clean sheets in 20 Eredivisie matches before his ban last season, with an 80% save percentage.
