Less than 24 hours ago, Wasserman Football confirmed they were taking on Arsenal youngster Ryan Alebiosu as a new client. It looks like the player’s new agency have been busy already.

Pete O’Rourke reported that Alebiosu had agreed a deal to join Crewe Alexandra on loan, a deal that is now official.

The League One side are in need of reinforcements as they battle with relegation.

The player himself recently admitted he was preparing for a loan move this month.

“I’ve also been putting in some more extra work on my one-on-one defending and heading this season, because who knows, I could be going out on loan and wherever I go, there could be more to the game than just being good on the ball,” Alebiosu told Arsenal.com.

“I want to make sure I’m ready for the physical challenges of senior football, so that I show the club what I can do and hopefully one day get my chance in the first team. That’s my dream.”

It’s certainly a much-needed move.

Alebiosu almost completed a loan to Sunderland in the summer, only for it to fall apart when Sunderland opted to use their final available loan slot on another player.

That meant another few months in the Arsenal u23s. Alebiosu scored once and assisted five in his 14 appearances at right-back or right-wing back over that period, clearly catching the eye in Crewe.

Arsenal will be fine, as they were overstocked at right-back going into the window.

Even after multiple departures, the club still have Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares at first-team level, with Zak Swanson, Jordi Osei-Tutu, and Reuell Walters as youth backups.
