Speaking to the media ahead of their FA Cup third round tie against Watford on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers admitted that frontman, Jamie Vardy would be out of action until March.

Not only did the Foxes manager confirm that Jonny Evans had undergone surgery, he also added that Vardy would be out for at least eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

Eight weeks would take us to around 5 March, one week before Arsenal are due to host Leicester at the Emirates on 12 March.

Vardy, of course, would need some time to get back to match fitness.

The 34-year-old, who loves reminding people that he turned Arsenal down to stay at Leicester, has scored 11 goals, with one assist, in 14 games against the Gunners, although he’s only been on the winning side four times. Five of those goals have come at the Emirates.

Funnily enough, 11 goals, and one assist, is Vardy’s total for this season across all competitions from 22 games, with nine in 16 in the Premier League.
