If Arsenal were truly interested in Bruno Guimarães and Dusan Vlahovic, then they are not having a good window with the players set to join Newcastle United and Juventus respectively.

In terms of Dusan Vlahovic, he was always going to end up at Juventus thanks to a lot of complications behind the scenes that I won’t bore you with now.

Vlahovic is reportedly having his medical in Turin on Friday ahead of a €75m move that will see him earn around €7m, after tax, in wages.

As for Bruno Guimarães, he’s off to Newcastle in a deal worth €42.5m plus another €8m in bonuses, based on the Magpies avoiding relegation.

Arsenal have managed to strike a deal for New England Revolution’s Matt Turner for an initial fee of $7m, but he is not expected to join until the summer and, as a goalkeeper, isn’t much use in the striking department or midfield, anyway.
