Football.London report that AEK Athens, Serie B side Monza, and several Championship clubs are among the sides interested in a deal for Jack Wilshere, who is currently a free agent.

Wilshere is joining the Arsenal squad on their trip to Dubai this week, but he’s willing to leave it to secure a move, and he’s hoping to secure a transfer in the next two weeks.

The Athletic report that the numbers available to Mikel Arteta on his squad’s trip to Dubai will depend on a number of factors, including injuries, AFCON, and Covid-19 vaccination status.

To make up the numbers, Wilshere is expected to be named in the group. The midfielder has regularly been training with Arsenal in recent weeks, as he plans the next step for his career.

There’s obviously not as much of a rush for Wilshere to complete a deal before deadline day, given his free-agent status.

He’ll still be able to sign with a new club after Monday, so joining the trip to Dubai is less of a risk.

For anyone getting their hopes up of a return to the Emirates Stadium pitch for Wilshere, David Ornstein quickly dashed those hopes in the same article on The Athletic.

He wrote there are still no plans to recruit Wilshere for a second spell at the club.
