Simon Collings reports that Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are two of the clubs thought to be tracking Bernd Leno.

As things stand, Leno is already in Dubai waiting for the rest of the Arsenal squad, along with a couple of other players who have headed out early for a brief holiday before their training camp.

But there’s still plenty of time left in the January window, if Leno can agree a move away from the club this week.

The player’s agent told Standard Sport: “Of course we get a lot of requests from clubs for Bernd.

“Bernd has always behaved very well at Arsenal and has shown strong performances. That’s why it’s quite normal.

“But we won’t comment on every request, Bernd has an ongoing contract until summer 2023.”

Football.London previously reported that Mikel Arteta had told Bernd Leno he can leave Arsenal this month, with the goalkeeper closing in on an exit.

Newcastle United are apparently one of the clubs in talks with Leno, with the goalkeeper hoping to move on and earn more minutes ahead of the World Cup later this year.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner over the past day or so, and ESPN report that this move would allow Leno to depart this month.

ESPN add that sources have informed them Newcastle could be a potential destination for the player, who has also been linked with a move back to Germany.

The Athletic report that Leno wants to leave Arsenal to play more regularly, and he may be granted a move if Turner joins.
