The Arsenal squad are heading out to Dubai this week for a warm-weather training camp over the mid-season winter break.

Ideally, the club want as many members of the squad to attend as possible, and they’re even planning to bring injured stars like Takehiro Tomiyasu. As many as 30 players are set to travel.

According to the Evening Standard, however, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be joining. He’s currently not expected to travel, as his absence from Arsenal’s matchday squads approaches the end of its second month.

Arsenal technical director Edu and director of football operations Richard Garlick are also planning to stay behind to work on possible transfer deals.

If they succeed in getting any done in the coming days, Arsenal would try to fly the new players out to join the squad.

It’s not looking hugely likely that will happen right now, with none of Arsenal’s potential deals appearing to be on the verge of completion.

You’d imagine it would be too late by deadline day (Monday), as Arsenal are returning from Dubai next Wednesday. It would hardly be worth flying out for a day.

But if there’s significant progress in the next day or so, perhaps there’s still time.
