With Arsenal in desperate need of forward options, the club are apparently open to letting Nicolas Pepe leave on loan before the window closes on deadline day.

This is on top of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is already in Barcelona ahead of his loan move.

While it’s not hard to imagine Pepe leaving the club given how he has fallen out of favour with Mikel Arteta, it would seem a very strange move given the squad is already looking threadbare.

There are few details at present but interest is said to be coming from both France and Germany but an unnamed Spanish side (though to be Real Sociedad) are said to be “confident of agreeing a deal for the winger.”

The 26-year-old record Arsenal signing, now valued at £27m compared to the £72m Arsenal paid for him, has played just 771 minutes this season, with two goals and five assists.

Pepe hasn’t started a league match since October and played just 24 minutes in the Premier League since.
