Arsenal have reportedly offered €20m for Danilo dos Santos, a player they’ve been linked with for some time.

According to R7 in Brazil, Arsenal have ‘made a proposal’ worth €20m, with 5m in add-ons for Palmeiras’ defensive midfielder, Danilo.

Danilo was also linked with a move to Arsenal as ‘an alternative’ in 2020 when they were trying to get the Thomas Partey deal over the line. He eventually moved for just £90,000.

Thomas Partey is, of course, away at AFCON but it is doubtful that Danilo would be signed just to cover him for the duration of that tournament as is being rumoured.

More likely, the club are eyeing up a replacement for Mohamed Elneny who is finally out of contract this summer.

Palmeiras are said to prefer to wait until the summer before they sell with Arsenal pushing for a deal in January.
